Relaxing in Vic

We had a great day today in Victoria. I took the day off to rest, and enjoyed two naps! I don’t recall the last time that happened, but I must have needed it.

I was telling Mary Frances this morning that I was so tired after giving my presentation yesterday that I was a bit faint and even had a moment of vertigo. Fainting is not exactly the thing you want to do after talking for three hours about enhancing workplace wellness and productivity.

In between naps today we took a boat tour of the harbour and later we checked out the museum. After a great supper (with some gentle live Jazz piano in the background) we went for a long swim in the wonderful pool at the Delta hotel. I’m not sure what it is about swimming with you family but there is nothing more therapeutic than that, especially when the pool is full of natural light amid beautiful surroundings.

Everyone is about to hit the sack now (Yes, more sleep!) Tomorrow we get some more much needed R n R before going to The Roost cafe near the airport to visit with cafe owners and friends Dallas, Sarah and their daughter MacKenzie before flying home to chilly Edmonton. It really has been a pleasure to combine work travel with family/friend time.
